Where We Exist

From BC to Ontario

MUHSEN started as an idea between two individuals committed to a better future for our community members who live with disabilities.

MUHSEN has now expanded across borders and established MUHSEN Canada, growing rapidly to serve over 300 registered families and 13 certified masjids.

Where MUHSEN is Headed

Awareness. Accommodation. Acceptance.

We have come a long way from Awareness to Accommodation and we are now starting to see Acceptance in these communities. At MUHSEN, we strive for equality, representation and empowerment of people with disabilities in every community. We long to see masjids and organizations truly including members of all abilities in the near future.

MUHSEN is growing at a rapid rate and we hope to build more and more programming and serve as many families as possible across Canada.

MUHSEN Canada’s Growing Impact

In just a short time, MUHSEN Canada has become a vibrant extension of our mission of inclusion and belonging. From accessibility services at major events like RIS and the Yaqeen Conference, to Community Connect gatherings, Deaf Sisters events, and disability-friendly sports and picnics, MUHSEN Canada is opening doors for families with special needs to fully participate in community life once again.

Participants from Canada have even joined MUHSEN Umrah, experiencing an accessible journey of faith and connection alongside families from across North America. Most recently, MUHSEN Canada hosted its first local retreat — a new kind of event designed as a field trip experience — where families came together for a day of recreation, reflection, and inclusion.

Through every initiative, MUHSEN Canada continues to ensure that individuals with disabilities and their families are not just supported, but celebrated as vital members of our society.
