On Saturday, August 15, MUHSEN Canada joined CCIS Calgary Catholic immigration Society, and the Humaniti Foundation for a back to school backpack celebration at CCIS in Calgary. Together, we distributed over 1000 backpacks filled with school supplies to families, including newcomer families and families of children with disabilities.
The day opened with a welcome ceremony at 10 AM, followed by pickups throughout the morning and early afternoon. Alhamdulillah, it was a beautiful example of what happens when organizations come together: CCIS welcoming newcomer families, Humaniti providing the backpacks, and MUHSEN Canada making sure children with disabilities and their families were included every step of the way.
“Every child deserves to walk into school feeling prepared and included,”
Thank you to CCIS, the Humaniti Foundation, and every volunteer who helped make the day run smoothly.
